Being tucked away in Shop Number 1 of the Parijat Co-Operating Housing Society means we see the same faces every single day. We’re right here in Gopal Nagar, just a short walk from the Corporation Bank ATM in Dombivli East. When we started Recipe, it wasn't about making a big statement. We just wanted to cook the kind of food we like to eat at home. It’s a small space, so you might find it a bit cramped during the dinner rush when everyone is coming home from work. The kitchen takes up most of the room because we need space for the big pots and the stove. We don't have a massive menu, just things we know how to make well without making a mess of it. Most of our regulars are our neighbors from the society or people walking back from the station. We’ve had some days where the stove gives us trouble or the delivery guy is late with the vegetables, but we make do. That’s just part of running a small business in Thane. We don't use any fancy machinery, just regular knives and pans. If you come by, you’ll probably see me or one of the boys cleaning the counter. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside, just a shop with a sign and the smell of spices drifting out onto the street. We’re just here doing our thing and hoping the food tastes right for whoever walks in.
