Njoy Foods N Spices

It is usually pretty loud around here in the Jai Mata Di Compound. Being at Gala S/20 means we see a lot of trucks coming and going all day long. If you walk inside Njoy Foods N Spices, the first thing you notice is the smell. It’s a mix of everything, mostly strong spices that get into your clothes by the end of the shift. We spend a lot of time just weighing things out and sealing up bags. It’s dusty work in Kalher Bhiwandi, but it keeps us busy. The fans are always running to keep the air moving, though it still gets pretty warm in the afternoons. Most of the guys here have been working together for a few years now. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just the warehouse space where all the real work happens. Sometimes the labels don't stick right or a bag tears, and we just have to fix it and move on. It’s not a quiet job. There is always someone shouting over the noise of the machinery or a driver honking outside to get into the loading bay. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the spice blends look right before they head out. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks and stacking pallets, but that is just how the spice business goes in this part of town.
