Shri Kamaka Caterers

We’ve been running Shri Kamaka Caterers out of Joshi Sadan for quite a while now. Being right here in Kalyan West near Gayan Samaj makes it easy for folks to find us when they need a meal for a family function. It’s a busy little spot over by Tilak Chowk. Mostly it’s just us and a few helpers getting everything ready early in the morning. You can usually hear the big pots clanging and smell the spices starting around five or six o’clock. Our kitchen isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we get the work done. The society is quiet mostly, except for when we’re loading up the van for a big delivery. We don’t really do much advertising because people around here just know who we are by now. Sometimes the traffic near the station gets bad and we have to leave earlier than planned just to make sure the food stays hot. It’s a lot of manual labor, peeling sacks of onions and making sure the rice is just right. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years but our spot in Joshi Sadan stays the same. It’s hard work, especially in the summer heat, but it keeps us busy. We mostly do local weddings and small gatherings at home. My cousin helps with the accounts while the rest of us stay in the kitchen. It’s just how we live and we try to do it right.
