Balaji Food

Our place is at 504 in the Sumangal Society, which is part of the Tirthdam Complex over by Lal Chowki in Kalyan West. We’ve been running Balaji Food from this area for quite some time. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always something going on outside near the complex. Most of our day is spent dealing with different food items and making sure everything is packed up right. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see my cousins or my uncle helping out with the heavy lifting. The kitchen area can get pretty hot, especially during the summer months, but we’re used to it by now. We aren't a big factory; it’s more of a local setup where we know exactly what’s going into every bag. Sometimes we run out of space for all the supplies, so we have to get creative with how we stack things in the corners. We don't have a fancy sales team or a big glossy brochure. People in Kalyan know where we are if they need anything. We just try to get the work done and get home in time for dinner. The Tirthdam Complex is a good community to be in, and we’ve made a lot of friends among the other shop owners over the years. It’s just our way of making a living and staying busy in the neighborhood.
