Shahi Durbar

You can find Shahi Durbar inside the Viviana Mall at Thane West. We are in the food court at unit FC 03. It’s on the Eastern Express Highway, right besides Jupiter Hospital. Working in a mall is a bit different than having a shop on the street. Everything is very fast. We have to follow the mall rules about when we open and close. Most of the people who come to us are either shoppers who are exhausted from walking around or people who are at the hospital and need a break. It gets incredibly busy on Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes it feels like we can’t keep up with the orders, but we just keep our heads down and work through the rush. The staff and I have a small space to work in, so we have to stay organized. It’s not always perfect; sometimes a machine breaks down or we run short on a certain ingredient because the delivery truck got stuck in Thane traffic. We just deal with it. We don’t use any corporate scripts when we talk to people. We just ask what they want and try to get it to them hot. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but seeing the food court full of people eating is a good feeling. We’ve been here since the mall was newer and we’ve seen a lot of other shops come and go. We just try to stay consistent.
