Alok Restaurant

We are located at 130 Gokhale Road in the Naupada area of Thane West. If you know where Ambedkar Chowk is, we are right there. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always noise from the street. The building is older, and we’ve been here long enough that the floor tiles have worn down in the spots where people walk the most. Alok Restaurant is just a straightforward place to eat. We have the usual wooden chairs and tables that have seen better days. Every morning starts with us opening the shutters and getting the kitchen fire going. There is a lot of chopping and cleaning to do before the first person walks in. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old calendars and the menu board. The staff here has been around for a long time, so we all know the routine by heart. Sometimes it gets so packed that people have to wait a few minutes, but usually, we find a spot for everyone. The air gets thick with the smell of spices around noon. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a local spot for local people who are just passing through Naupada or living in the flats nearby. We close up once the dinner crowd thins out and then we do it all again the next day. It is just a regular business for us.
