Sai Dhyan

Our shop is located at Shop No 2 on Gokhale Road in the Naupada area of Thane West. We are situated almost exactly opposite the telephone exchange, which makes it easy for people to explain where we are if they are giving directions to a friend. The street outside is usually lined with parked scooters and people walking toward the station or heading home after work. We open up early enough to see the morning commuters, and we usually stay open until the street lights have been on for a few hours. Inside, it is a fairly quiet space compared to the noise of Gokhale Road, though you can still hear the buses go by every few minutes. We have a simple counter and some shelves, and we keep things pretty basic so we can focus on the people who walk through the door. Naupada is a busy neighborhood, and we feel like a small part of the daily life here. We do not bother with big advertisements or anything like that because most of the people who come in are just locals who live nearby or work at the exchange across the street. It is a steady way to live, watching the seasons change from the front window and chatting with the regulars about the weather or the local news. The shop is just a practical place for us to do our business and be part of the community in Thane.
