Rahul International School

Down in Yashwant Shrushti, specifically in the Boisar area of Palghar, is where Rahul International School sits. It’s a busy spot. Most of us get here before the first bus arrives. Boisar can be a bit dusty and the roads are often crowded, but once you get inside the gates, things settle down a little. We have kids coming from all over this part of Palghar. The hallways are wide enough, though they feel small when everyone is rushing to their next class. We spend a lot of time looking at schedules and making sure the classrooms have enough chalk and markers. It’s a lot of mundane work, really. Keeping a school running in Yashwant Shrushti means dealing with the power cuts sometimes or making sure the water coolers are actually cool. We have to keep an eye on the ceiling fans during the monsoon because the humidity here can be really tough on everything. The staff room is usually a mess of papers and half-eaten lunches because we’re always moving. We don’t talk much about grand ideas; we mostly talk about who forgot their homework or which window needs fixing. The building has its quirks, like that one door that always squeaks no matter how much oil we put on it. It’s a practical place. We’re just here to do the teaching and make sure the kids stay out of trouble until the final bell rings. Then we do it all over again the next morning.
