New Indian High School

New Indian High School is situated in the Devripada area of Mumbra, specifically near Kalsekar. Our address is right in the middle of a very crowded and lively part of Thane. The streets around the school are always full of people, bikes, and local vendors. The building itself has been around for many years and shows its age in the cracks in the plaster and the worn-out steps. We have many students coming in from the surrounding neighborhood of Kausa, so the hallways are usually packed during the breaks. It gets quite loud with all the chatter, but that’s just the way it is here. We have a small staff of teachers who have worked at this school for a long time. We use chalk and blackboards for most of our lessons because that’s what we have. There isn't a lot of extra room for fancy facilities, so we use every inch of the building to fit the classrooms in. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the middle of a lesson, and we just have to keep going with the windows open. It’s a very local school that serves the families living in Mumbra. We aren't a big, polished institution; we are just a neighborhood school trying to get the kids through their exams and basic education. It’s a lot of hard work, but we’ve been doing it this way for years.
