Padmavati High School

Padmavati High School is located on Old Pune Road in Kalwa. It is an area that has seen a lot of changes over the years. The school building is right by the road, so there is always a bit of noise from the buses and rickshaws passing by. It is a sturdy old place with high ceilings and wide corridors. We have a lot of students coming from the surrounding neighborhoods in Thane. The classrooms are basic, with rows of benches that have seen many years of students. We do not have a huge budget for fancy decorations or new furniture every year. We focus more on getting the lessons done and making sure the kids show up on time. The staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and half-empty tea cups. During the lunch break, the students sit in the corridors or outside in the small courtyard to eat their tiffins. It gets very busy during the exam months. We do not use much in the way of marketing. People in Kalwa know where we are. Many of our former students now bring their own children here to study. It is a local institution, for better or worse. We deal with the usual problems like leaky pipes during the rains or the electricity cutting out. It is just a normal school where we try to get through the syllabus every year. It is not fancy, but it has been here a long time.
