Smt. Kaveritai Patil English Medium School

We are situated in Kalwa, right along the Old Mumbai Pune Road. It’s a busy stretch of road with lots of trucks and cars passing by all the time. Smt. Kaveritai Patil English Medium School operates out of the same premises as the New Kalwa Highschool and Jr. College. It’s a large, sturdy building that has been part of this community for a long time. You can see the students in their uniforms waiting for the bus or walking in groups after the final bell rings. Inside, the hallways are wide and the classrooms have high ceilings. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. The focus is mainly on the lessons and getting through the syllabus each year. The teachers here are local folks who understand the neighborhood well. We have a playground area that gets very dusty in the summer, but the kids don't seem to mind when they are playing football or cricket during their break. It’s a straightforward school life here in Thane. We deal with the rain during the monsoon and the heat in April, just like everyone else in the area. There is a lot of history in these walls because so many local kids have grown up and moved on from here. We just keep the doors open and the chalk moving on the boards every single morning without much fuss.
