Pooja Dry Fruit & Spices

Pooja Dry Fruit & Spices is situated in the Krishna Building, which is right in the heart of Thakur Village in Kandivali East. We are directly opposite Thakur Cinema, so the road outside is always packed with people and cars. It’s a very different vibe inside the shop compared to the busy street. We have rows and rows of containers filled with different types of nuts and spices. A lot of our day is spent weighing things out and putting them into smaller packets. The smell of cardamom and almonds is pretty much part of the furniture here. We have to be careful about how we store everything because of the heat. The Krishna Building is an older structure, so it has its quirks, like the lights that flicker sometimes. We get a lot of local residents coming in, but also people who are just passing through to catch a movie. It can get a bit cramped when we have a big delivery of sacks coming in. We have to stack them high in the back room and it takes a lot of effort to move them around. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. We just keep the shop open late and make sure we have enough stock on the shelves. It’s a busy life here on Thakur Cinema Road, but we are used to the noise.
