Lok Puram Public School

Lok Puram Public School is found on Smt. Gladys Alvares Road, which is just off the Second Pokhran Road in the Majiwade area of Thane. It’s a well-known corner of the neighborhood. The school has a very lived-in feel to it. It’s been around for quite a while, and you can see that in the way the building looks and feels. We are right in the heart of a residential zone, so many of our students just walk to school from the nearby apartments. The road outside can get a bit crowded with parked cars and rickshaws, especially during the afternoon pickup. Inside, the hallways are narrow and the classrooms are filled with the sound of teachers talking and fans humming. It’s a local school through and through. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. There’s a small playground area where the kids spend their time when they aren't in class. The staff here have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We know the local shopkeepers and the parents who have been sending their kids here for a long time. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s names. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure the building is kept up as best as we can. It’s a busy, noisy, and very normal school in a very normal part of Thane.
