Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thane

Down on Kolshet Road, inside the Air Force Station area, you will find our school. It is a bit of a trek for some, located near the Sandoz Baug Post in Thane West, but it is a solid spot. Being on the station grounds means there is a lot of security and a certain way of doing things. We have been operating here for years, and the atmosphere is quite different from schools right in the middle of the busy city. There is a lot of green space around, which is a relief when the weather gets hot. The buildings are older, painted in those familiar colors, and we just keep them running as best as we can. Our teachers and staff are used to the routine of the station. Most of the kids come from families nearby or from the base itself. It is not a place with a lot of bells and whistles. We have the usual classrooms, a playground that gets a lot of use, and a small office where we handle the paperwork. Life here follows the school calendar pretty strictly. We see the same faces every day and know most of the parents by name. It is just a regular school life, dealing with exams, sports days, and the occasional rainy afternoon when everyone has to stay indoors. We are just part of the local landscape here in Thane, doing the work day in and day out for the students who come through our gates.
