Kailash Masala

Kailash Masala is at Plot No.4, right near the main road in Potheri. Being in Dombivli East means it’s always busy around here. We’ve got a lot of competition, but we just stick to what we know. The shop is small and the air usually smells like cumin and chili. It’s a smell that stays on your clothes even after you leave. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just wake up, open the shutters, and start the day. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit difficult because the road gets muddy, but we keep going. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us since we first opened at this plot. We don't bother with fancy packaging unless someone asks for it. Mostly, it’s just clear bags and labels written by hand. It’s a lot of manual work, grinding and mixing things up in the back room. The noise of the machines can be a bit loud during the day. We don’t use any corporate talk here. We just tell people what we have and they decide if they want it. It’s a simple life in Dombivli East. We’re just happy to be working and keeping the shop running. You can find us there every day except for the holidays. The counter is a bit scratched up from all the bags, but it holds up.
