Hotel Vikas Restaurant

Hotel Vikas Restaurant is in the Sudhanshu Chamber building. It is right in Kalyan City, very close to the railway station. If you have ever been to the Kalyan station, you know how loud and busy it gets with all the trains and the people rushing to catch them. We are just a short walk away on Shivaji Path. Being in Thane, the humidity is always there. Our place is a mix of a hotel and a restaurant. Most people come in for a quick meal before they head to the platform. The building itself has been around for a bit and it shows its age in some spots. We have rooms upstairs for people who miss their train or have work in the city. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes because the area is so cramped. We have to deal with the noise from the street performers and the rickshaws honking all day long. The kitchen stays busy from early morning making tea and breakfast. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. It is just us working in the Sudhanshu Chamber. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the entrance during monsoon, so we put out buckets. It is just a normal, everyday business. We know the shopkeepers nearby and we all just get through the day together in this busy part of town near the station.
