Great Punjab Restaurant & Bar

If you’ve ever been near the Kalyan City post office on New Station Road, you probably know where we are. Great Punjab Restaurant & Bar has been sitting here for a good while. Being so close to the station means we see all sorts of people, from commuters heading home to locals looking for a drink after work. It’s a bit of a noisy spot because of the traffic, but inside it’s different. We have the bar section and then the regular dining area. It isn't one of those modern, shiny places. We kept things mostly the way they were when we started. The menu is mostly Punjabi food, the kind of stuff that goes well with a cold beer. We get a lot of regulars who have been coming here for years, sitting at the same tables. The waiters have been with us a long time too, so they know who likes what. It’s not about being the fanciest place in Thane; it’s just about having a reliable spot to eat and sit down. Sometimes the music is a little loud, and sometimes it's quiet. We just run the place day to day, making sure the tandoor is hot and the bottles are stocked. It’s a straightforward business and we don't have a lot of rules. We like the crowd here. It feels like a real part of Kalyan. We just keep the doors open and the food ready.
