We operate out of Daval Rukhmini Sadan, which is located at number 31 in Thane. It’s a residential building where we have set up our workspace to handle all our architectural projects. Thane has changed a lot over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. The office is filled with the usual stuff you’d expect—computers, printers that sometimes jam, and stacks of paper everywhere. It’s a very lived-in space. We don't have a cleaning crew that comes in every hour to make it look perfect. There are coffee mugs on the desks and pens that have run out of ink lying around. We spend most of our hours looking at 3D models on our screens, trying to figure out how a building will actually sit on its site. It’s a quiet enough place to concentrate, though you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day. We don't have a formal dress code or anything like that. We just show up, do our work, and talk to clients when they drop by. Usually, we meet them at the main table which is always covered in pencils and scale rulers. It is a straightforward operation without any corporate overhead. We like being in Thane because it’s a bit less chaotic than central Mumbai, even though the traffic can still be a pain. It’s just a normal office for people who care about making good drawings and getting the job done right. We keep it simple.
