Sharam Associates

At No. 4 Periyar Nagar Main Road in Pallikaranai, you’ll find our office, Sharam Associates. It’s right on the main road, so we get a lot of dust coming in through the front door if we leave it open. The traffic in Pallikaranai has gotten much worse lately, and sometimes the noise of the horns makes it hard to hear on the phone. We have a few desks pushed together and a printer that jams at least once a day. Most of our time is spent looking over documents and making calls to different offices. It’s not very exciting work, but it’s what we do. We have a small water cooler in the corner and a stack of plastic chairs for when people drop by to leave paperwork. The floor is tile and it’s a bit chipped near the entrance. We’ve been at this location for a bit now, so we know the tea stall guy and the lady who sells flowers down the street. It’s a simple setup without any fancy decorations or air conditioning that actually works well. We use old fans that wobble a bit when they’re on high speed. There are files everywhere, some in cabinets and some just sitting on the floor in bundles tied with string. It’s just a regular local business trying to stay on top of the daily grind and making sure the paperwork gets filed correctly. We usually lock up around six and head home in the traffic.
