Gulnarchitects

Gulnarchitects is based out of Madhavaram in Chennai. Our address is 26, Palaniappa Nagar Thabalpetti, and we are quite close to St Annes School. It is a decent neighborhood, mostly residential, which makes the office feel calm. We have been working from this spot for some time now. Inside, the space is filled with the usual things you’d expect from an architect’s office—lots of tracing paper, rulers, and various pens scattered everywhere. We spend most of our hours looking at screens or sketching out ideas for different buildings. The Chennai weather means we are usually glad for the shade of the building. You can hear the sounds from the school nearby at certain times of the day, which marks the time for us. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of people; we are a smaller team that focuses on getting the drawings right. Our desks are usually a bit of a mess with different project files. We don't have a receptionist to greet you; you just come in and one of us will look up from what we are doing. The walls are a plain white, mostly covered in project timelines or the occasional sketch of a facade. It is a simple place to work. We focus on the tasks at hand, whether it is a small house plan or something a bit bigger. We like being in Madhavaram as it is away from the main city rush, giving us some space to think.
