Shri Dajiraj High School

Shri Dajiraj High School has a long history here in Wadhwancity. Being in Surendra Nagar, we deal with a lot of heat for most of the year, so the thick walls of our old building are a blessing. The school is a bit of a landmark for people living in this part of Gujarat. You can see the students walking through the narrow streets of Wadhwan every morning to get here. It is a very traditional setup with large rooms and high ceilings that help move the air around. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just the old ceiling fans that have been humming for decades. The playground is mostly dirt and sand, which is common for our region, and it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. We have a lot of students, so the hallways can get quite crowded between classes. It is a busy, lively place where there is always someone talking or a teacher giving a lecture. We focus on the basics here. The kids come to learn their subjects and prepare for their futures. Many of their parents and even grandparents came to this same school, so there is a lot of history in the wooden benches and the scarred desks. We just keep the doors open and continue the work that has been going on for generations in this town. It is a simple life and we are just a small part of it.
