Shri Chamunda Pan Cold Drinks

Our shop, Shri Chamunda Pan Cold Drinks, sits right on Varachha Road over in Ganesh Nagar, unit G 6 A. It is a small place but we keep it packed with all sorts of things. The fridge is always humming in the background because we have to keep the drinks cold for the people coming off the main road. It gets very dusty out there on S S Road, so people stop in just to get out of the sun for a minute. I spend most of my time behind the counter folding leaves and mixing the ingredients for the pan. It is a skill I learned from my father. My hands are usually stained by the end of the day, but that is just how it goes. We have a big glass display for the chocolates and other small things too. It is not a place where you sit down for long. Most people just stand by the counter, have their drink, talk for a bit about the weather or the traffic, and then move on. In the evenings, the lights from the street reflect off our glass jars. It is a good spot to see the world go by. We try to keep everything tidy, but with so many people coming in and out, it is a constant battle. We do not have a big sign or anything, just the usual setup. It has been our family’s way of making a living for a while now. We stay open late because that is when the most people are out.
