Kafe Red

You have to go down to the lower ground floor of Ascon City to find us. Kafe Red has been in this spot on Citylight Road for a bit. We are right opposite Maheshwari Bhavan, which is a big landmark in this part of Surat - 395007. The cafe isn't very large, but we managed to fit in enough tables for the afternoon rush. It gets a little dark down here since we are below the main street level, but we have some lights that keep it cozy enough. We serve various things, mostly stuff that younger people like to eat while they hang out. I’m usually behind the counter most of the day. It’s not a corporate place with a big manual on how to talk to customers. We just say hello and get your order. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, or we might be running low on a specific ingredient, but we always try to make it work. Surat is a fast city, but in here, things move a bit slower. We see the same faces every week, mostly kids from the nearby colleges or people working in the offices upstairs in Ascon City. We don't do much advertising. We just figure if the place is clean and the food is okay, people will keep coming back to Citylight Road. It’s just us doing our thing every day. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we just give it a tap and it settles down. It makes the work day go by faster.
