Down at P-14 in the Old GIDC area of Katargam, that is where we have Rudra Art. It is an industrial patch of the city, so it’s not exactly the cleanest or prettiest place to work. There is always the sound of machines or grinding coming from the neighbors. We do our art work here, which mostly involves a lot of tools and getting our hands dirty. The floor is concrete and has some stains from over the years that just won't come out. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the middle of a project with dust on our clothes. It gets hot in the shed, especially in the afternoons, so we have these big metal fans that make a lot of noise. We don't mind it much. We’ve been in Katargam for a long time, and we like the grit of the place. It’s honest work. We spend our mornings looking at the sketches or orders and the rest of the day actually making things. Sometimes we run out of materials and have to wait for a delivery truck to navigate the narrow GIDC lanes. It can be frustrating, but that is just part of being in this location. We close the gates at night and head home, usually pretty tired. It’s a simple setup for people who just want to get things done without anything fancy or unnecessary.
