We’ve been at Laxmi Industrial Estate for quite a while now. If you come looking for G-11, you’ll find us surrounded by glass and wood pieces. It’s not the quietest place, but it's where we get things done. Mostly, we just spend our days making sure pictures look right in their frames. Some people bring in old family photos that are falling apart, others have new artwork. We don't do anything fancy with sales pitches. We just cut the wood, join the corners, and hope the glass doesn't break while we're cleaning it. Andheri West is always busy, so getting deliveries in and out through the New Link Road traffic can be a bit of a headache sometimes. My father started something like this years ago, and we just kept it going. It’s dusty work. You wouldn't think framing takes up so much space, but between the mounts and the backing boards, the shop fills up fast. We have a few machines that help with the precision, but a lot of it is still just us checking the alignment by eye. It’s satisfying when a frame finally clicks together properly. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty for the internet. If someone needs a frame, they usually just walk in or call and ask if we can handle the size they have. It's a simple way to earn a living, and we've been doing it long enough that we know most of the regulars around here.
