Om Ceramic

You can find Om Ceramic at number 45 in the Surat Hirachand Society. We are situated pretty close to the Arogya Kendra, so it’s easy for people to find the street. The shop is basically packed from floor to ceiling with different tiles and ceramic pieces. It’s a bit of a maze inside, and you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you’re walking through the aisles. We spend a lot of time unboxing new shipments and trying to find places to put everything. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and sometimes the boxes are a bit dusty from the warehouse. We have a small table near the entrance where we sit and talk to the people who come in. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything; we just open the shutters in the morning and see who drops by. The Hirachand Society is a nice enough place to work, and it stays relatively calm compared to the main roads. We mostly deal with local folks who are fixing up their houses. Sometimes the samples get a bit mixed up, so we spend the quiet hours sorting them back into their right spots. It’s not a high-tech operation by any means. We just use a basic calculator and a notebook to keep track of things. It’s a steady way to spend the day. There is always a lot of cleaning to do.
