Khodiyar Tea & Pan Centre

We are located at Varachha Road in the Subhanpura area. Our place is Shop No 9 and we call it Khodiyar Tea & Pan Centre. Usually the day starts very early for us because that is when people want their first cup of tea. We get the stove going and start boiling the water before the sun is even fully up. The smell of tea fills the small space and people start drifting in while they are on their way to work. We also have pan ready for whoever wants it later in the day. It is a small shop so there isn't much room to walk around inside. Most people just stand out front on the sidewalk and talk while they drink from their cups. We spend a lot of time washing the small glasses and making sure the tea is strong enough. Varachha Road is a busy place and there is always something happening outside our door. We don't have any fancy machines. We just use a simple pot and a strainer for everything. It is hard work being on your feet all day but we are used to it by now. We have had this shop for quite some time and it feels like home to us. We don't need a lot of stuff to keep things running. Just good tea and a bit of conversation with the locals who come by every morning.
