Joshi Art Studio

Joshi Art Studio is located at Shop No 9 in Rustampura. We are right opposite the Maharaja Cinema in the Singapuriwadi area. It’s an interesting spot to be in. When a big movie is playing, the whole street gets crowded with people and their bikes. We have been here for a good number of years. The shop is small and a bit weathered around the edges, but it serves us well. I usually start the day by sweeping the front step because the street can get quite messy. Inside, it’s just the basics. We don't have a big staff or a corporate structure. It is mostly just us handling the day-to-day operations. The sounds of the cinema crowd and the traffic on the main road are the background music to our work. Rustampura has a lot of character, and we feel like we fit right in. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello or ask for a bit of change. It’s that kind of neighborhood. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar and a list of things that need to be done. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but we don't mind. It’s home for us during the day.
