Om Acrylic Art

We are located in the Khodiyar Complex over on Jakatnaka Road in Adajan, right near the Gujarat Housing buildings. Our shop is where we do all our acrylic work. It’s a busy little space with sheets of plastic leaning against the walls and a big table in the middle for cutting. We make all sorts of things like signs, boxes, and custom display pieces. There is always a layer of fine plastic dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We use some specialized saws and heaters to bend the acrylic into the right shapes. It takes a bit of patience because if you rush it, the material can snap or bubble. I usually have a couple of guys helping me with the bigger orders. We don't have a big fancy showroom; just some of our previous work sitting on a shelf near the door. People come in with sketches on scraps of paper and we talk about how to make it happen. Sometimes the glue gets on our clothes and doesn't come out, so we mostly wear old shirts. The neighborhood is pretty active, and we get a lot of people just popping their heads in to see what we are making. It’s nice to work with our hands and see a finished product at the end of the day. It is just us doing what we know.
