You can find us at No. 227 in Kshama Society along A. K. Road. It’s a bit quieter here than the main commercial streets, which suits us just fine. Our place is full of frames, glass, and different kinds of art materials. We do a lot of the assembly and finishing right here on the big wooden table in the middle of the room. There’s always the smell of varnish or paint hanging in the air. We don't have a huge team of people. It’s just a couple of us doing the work every day. We get a lot of neighbors dropping by to get something framed or just to see what new pieces we are working on. The floor is covered in bits of scrap wood and wire. We try to sweep up every evening but it’s a losing battle most of the time. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit messy, but inside it’s dry and busy. We’ve got some old photos on the wall from when we first started out in this society. The light comes in through the side window and hits the workbench just right in the afternoon. We don’t use fancy computers to design things. We just use a pencil and a wooden ruler. It’s more honest that way. We like being part of the community here at Kshama Society. It’s a good place to be.
