Our office is over at Saroj Park Complex on Anand Mahal Road. We’re at number 5. We spend our days dealing with properties, mostly around this part of town. It’s a small office with a couple of chairs and a lot of files. We don’t do the big corporate real estate thing. We just know the local buildings and the people who want to live in them. People drop in to ask about rents or if any shops are for sale nearby. Anand Mahal Road is always busy, so there is plenty of movement. We keep track of who is moving in and out. Sometimes we are out most of the day showing houses or checking on sites. It’s a lot of walking and talking. We’ve seen the neighborhood grow over the years, with new complexes popping up everywhere. We try to give people honest advice about the places we show. We aren't trying to sell anyone a dream, just a decent place to stay or work. The office is a bit cluttered with maps and keys. We take our tea breaks at the corner shop. It’s a simple business based on knowing the area well. If someone needs a flat or a commercial space in this side of Surat, they usually find their way to our door. We just take it one day at a time. It’s about building trust with neighbors. Some days are quiet and some are non-stop, but we like the variety of it.
