Essar Steel Ltd. On Contract With Dhruv Construction

Our group works out of B/65 in the Ichhanagar Society. We are situated in Jahangirpura along the Rander Road in Surat. We are actually working on a contract with Dhruv Construction for Essar Steel. It’s a bit of a different setup since we are tied to the construction side of things. The office is in a residential society, so it feels a lot more relaxed than being right in the middle of a factory. We have a few rooms set up with desks and some maps of the project sites on the walls. There is usually a lot of coming and going because our people are often out at the site or meeting with supervisors. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. There’s a ceiling fan that squeaks a little bit and some old cupboards for the files. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing outside, and you can hear them through the windows. It’s a very ordinary place to work. We spend our days checking on supplies and making sure the labor schedules are correct. It isn't always easy, and sometimes there are disagreements about how things should be done, but we work through them. We drink our coffee, do our work, and try to keep things moving forward. It’s just a normal job with normal people trying to do their best for the project and the neighborhood too. It is a decent way to earn a living.
