Dil Se Re

Down in Adajan Dn, we have our little place called Dil Se Re. The name sounds a bit like a song but for us it is just where we spend our whole day working. We started out with just a couple of tables and a small stove and we haven't really grown much bigger than that since then. The street outside is always noisy with scooters and people walking to the nearby shops. I usually spend the first hour of the morning just getting the kitchen ready and making sure we have enough supplies for the day. The chairs we have are a bit old and they creak when people sit down but nobody seems to mind too much. We get a lot of students coming in because they are looking for something quick to eat. Sometimes I get the orders mixed up when it gets too crowded but the customers are usually patient with me. The windows get foggy when it rains and we have to keep a cloth nearby to wipe them down so we can see the street. It is just a simple way to make a living and we don't try to be anything we are not. My wife handles the money while I stay in the back doing the heavy work. It is a long day from start to finish but it is what we know. We just focus on the task in front of us.
