Charlie Engineering Works

You can find Charlie Engineering Works right across from the GED on R V Road in Sachin. It’s a spot that’s easy enough to find if you know where the big electrical station is. We’ve been doing engineering work here at number 927 for a good while. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a solid building with enough room for our tools and the projects we are currently working on. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when we have the welding equipment going, but we have a few fans that help a bit. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, so we all know how the others work. We don't spend much money on advertising because word of mouth in Sachin usually keeps us busy enough. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, which makes it a mess to bring parts in and out, but that is just part of being in this area. We have a small desk near the front where we handle the billing and talk to customers, but most of the action happens in the back. There are always piles of metal offcuts and various tools lying around, as that's just the nature of an engineering shop. We take things as they come and try to fix whatever problems walk through the door. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We like the work and the people we meet through the business.
