Cafe Coffee Day

Being over here at Athwagate Circle, specifically in K Block 2, makes for a busy day. This is Cafe Coffee Day, but it feels more like a local hangout for the people nearby. The circle is always crowded with traffic, and you can hear the horns honking all day long. We spend most of our time cleaning tables and making sure the chairs are straight. It’s a big space but it fills up fast when the weather is nice. We have some regulars who sit in the same corner every single morning. The light comes in through the front windows in a way that makes the dust show, so we’re always wiping things down. Athwagate Circle is a landmark around here, so we get a lot of people asking for directions. K Block 2 isn't hard to find if you know the area. We have our own way of doing things, nothing too complicated. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up or the milk delivery is late, and we just have to deal with it as it happens. It’s not like those fancy places you see in movies. It’s just a spot to sit down for a bit. We keep the doors open and see who walks in. The day goes by pretty fast when you’re constantly moving around. By the time we close up, the circle is finally starting to get quiet. It’s just a regular job at a regular place.
