Bombay Pan & Juice Corner

Our place, Bombay Pan & Juice Corner, sits right on Katargam Tapwan Mandir Road. It is usually a big mix of sweet fruit smells and the distinct scent of fresh pan leaves around the shop. We spend a lot of our time peeling oranges and chopping up whatever fruit is currently in season to make the juice. The loud mixer makes a lot of noise throughout the day, so sometimes it is actually hard to hear what the customers are saying to us. Outside, the road leading to the temple stays very busy, especially on the big festival days or certain mornings. We keep piles of fresh fruit right on the counter and the floor usually stays a bit sticky no matter how much we try to scrub it down. People stop by after visiting the temple or while they are out running their daily errands around Katargam. We do not have any fancy signs or big advertisements or anything like that. It is just a simple, local shop where you can get something cold and fresh to drink. The pan side of the business is a lot quieter, just slow and steady work with the hands. We stay open until late because people really like having a sweet pan after they finish their dinner. The street lights outside reflect off the glass jars we keep lined up on the shelves. It is a lot of standing on your feet all day long.
