Balaji Art

We are located at Block No 228 in Hari Nagar 2, which is over in the Udhna area of Surat. It’s quite easy to find us because we are right opposite the Ashanager Gate. If you’re still lost, just look for the Ambaji Mandir because we are very close to it. Being Balaji Art, we usually have a lot of materials laying around. It’s not the cleanest or most organized place because art can be messy by nature. There’s always paint or dust or bits of scrap lying on the floor. We’ve been in this spot for a good while. The neighborhood is full of workers and families, so there is always a lot of energy around. I like being near the temple; you can hear the bells sometimes and it’s a nice sound to work to. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most people just come into the workshop and see what we are working on at the moment. It’s very hands-on here. I’m usually covered in something by the end of the day. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We just make things and hope people like them. It’s a simple way to make a living. Udhna is a busy, hardworking place, and I think our little shop fits right in with that spirit. We just do our best with what we have here. It’s a messy, creative life and it works for us.
