Bajarang Tea House

We are over at 7 A K Road in the Guru Nanak Market, specifically in Phase I right across from Prince Plaza. Our tea house is one of those places where the stove is almost always on from early morning until we close up late. Making tea might seem like a small thing, but when you are doing it for hundreds of people every day, it keeps you on your toes. The market is a very busy place, so we get a lot of shopkeepers and workers coming in for their daily break. We serve the tea in small glasses and there is usually a lot of chatter going on at the benches. It gets quite loud with the traffic on AK Road and the people shouting in the market, but we are used to the noise. We keep a few snacks around too because people like something to eat with their chai. The smell of boiling milk and tea leaves is always in the air around our spot. We don't have a lot of space, but people don't seem to mind squeezing in for a few minutes. It is a simple life, just brewing and serving and cleaning up. Sometimes the rain makes it even busier because everyone wants something hot to drink while they wait for the weather to clear. We have been in this same spot for a good while, watching the plaza across the street get busier every year.
