Astha Art & Crafts

Our shop, Astha Art & Crafts, is at Shop No. 5 in the Shivshakti building, which is part of the Bhagwan Das Complex in Himmatnagar. It’s right on Varachha Road, so there’s always a lot of people and scooters passing by. The shop is small and we have to stack things pretty high to fit everything in. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to find a specific tool when we need it, but we usually manage. We’ve been in the Hirabag area for quite a while now. Most of our customers are locals who know us by name. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just the shop floor and a small desk in the back. My wife helps with the customers while I work on the crafts. We try to keep the windows clean so people can see what’s inside, but with the traffic on Varachha Road, they get dusty again pretty fast. We don't make any big promises about what we do. We just make the items as well as we can and hope they find a good home. It gets really busy during the festival seasons, and we end up staying late almost every night. It’s tiring but it feels good to stay busy. We’re just a local family business doing our best every day. If we're not at the counter, we're probably in the back sorting stock.
