We are situated in a corner of the Hyatt Regency at Bhikaji Cama Place, specifically at L-73. It’s a different world inside the hotel compared to the streets of Delhi. It’s quiet and the air is always cool. We have a small space here where we keep our collection. Most of our day is spent waiting for guests to wander by after their meals or meetings. It’s a lot of sitting and polishing the silver and gold so it doesn't look dull under the spotlights. We aren't a massive chain; it’s just us here. Sometimes it gets lonely when there aren't many guests staying at the hotel. We spend that time organizing our ledgers or just chatting about the news. The carpet in here is thick, so you don't hear footsteps until someone is right at the door. It’s a bit of a fancy address, I suppose, but we’re just regular people working a job. We have to follow the hotel's rules about how we dress and when we open, which is fine. We usually bring our own lunch and eat it in the back room so we don't bother anyone. It’s a slow pace of life in this little shop. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the jewelry looks okay and everything is ready for the next person who stops in. That is the daily routine for us.
