Our office is up on the first floor of C-38 in Greater Kailash-I. It's a nice enough area in Delhi, though parking can be a real headache if you arrive anywhere after ten in the morning. At V.K.Solar, we spend most of our time dealing with solar panels and all the bits and pieces that go along with them. It all started because we saw how much sun this city gets and figured we should probably start using it. We aren't a giant corporation with hundreds of staff members. It’s just a small team of us who actually care about how these solar systems get installed. We usually have blueprints scattered across the tables and different samples of solar cells sitting near the window. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it's quiet enough to hear the traffic moving outside. We handle the paperwork for people wanting to switch over to solar power. This involves a lot of explaining how the meters work and why the batteries need to be placed in certain spots. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just walk up the stairs and you’re right in the middle of our workspace. We’ve had some very long days here, especially when there’s a big project going on in the suburbs. We just try to get the installations done right the first time so we don't have to keep going back. It’s honest work.
