The shop is right on the main road in Kalkaji, near the DDA Flats at J-1/21. It’s a loud area because of the cars always honking outside. I started here because the location seemed alright for a small business. Inside, the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but for now, they do the job. I usually spend the first hour of the day just dusting the glass cases because the road dust gets everywhere. It’s a lot of work keeping things clean in this part of Delhi. Most of our regulars live right in the flats nearby and they just stop by while they’re out for a walk or getting groceries. We don't have a big sign or anything too bright. It’s a simple setup with some shelves and a counter where I sit. Sometimes the electricity goes off for an hour and we just sit there with the door open to get some breeze. I try to keep the stock moving, but some things stay on the shelf longer than others. My chair behind the counter is a bit squeaky, which is annoying after a few hours. Lunch is usually something I bring from home or get from the small stall down the street. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it keeps me busy from morning until late evening when I finally pull the shutter down. It's just a normal shop on a busy Delhi street.
