Thok The House Of Kakori

We run Thok The House Of Kakori in Lajpat Nagar 4. Our shop is at A 67 on the ground floor, right in the middle of Dayanand Colony. It is a very well-known part of Delhi, especially because we are quite close to Sapna Cinema. The streets around here are always packed with shoppers and cars, so it is never quiet. We spend most of our day around the charcoal grills. The smell of the smoke stays on your clothes, but that is part of the job. We focus on making things like kebabs and rolls that people can eat quickly. It is not a very large space, so we don't have much room for people to sit down and linger. Most of our customers are locals from the colony or people visiting the market who want a quick bite. We start our prep work in the afternoon so we are ready for the evening crowd. Delhi summers are tough in a small kitchen, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. We have been at this location for a good while and have gotten to know the other shopkeepers around us. It is a simple, honest business. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or lights. We just keep the grill hot and serve whoever walks in from the street. It is a lot of routine, but it keeps us going.
