The Shaw House

The Shaw House is over at C-28 in Nizamuddin West. It is a very green neighborhood with a lot of old trees and history everywhere you look. We have been in this building for a long time now. It doesn't really feel like a store when you walk in. It feels more like someone’s house that is just filled up with shawls and scarves. We don't have any big flashing signs or advertisements. Most of the people who come to see us heard about the place from a friend or a neighbor. We spend our days looking at embroidery and making sure the wool we get is soft and good quality. It is quiet, steady work that we enjoy. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to tell us how to be more corporate. We just know what we like and we hope our customers like it too. Sometimes the area gets very crowded with people visiting the shrine nearby, but our street stays pretty calm. We don't have a mission or any set of big values written down anywhere. We just try to be helpful to whoever walks in and give them something that will last for years. It is just a small family thing. We drink a lot of tea and talk about how things used to be in Delhi. That is pretty much all there is to The Shaw House. We are just here doing our thing.
