Our place at 61-B Madan Pur Khadar is tucked away a bit. If you aren't looking for Golden Grain Specialty Breads Co, you might drive right past the turn. The neighborhood is pretty lively, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading out. We start early here, usually while it’s still dark outside, to get things moving. The building isn't very new, but it’s sturdy and keeps the heat in during the winter months. We have a small counter near the entrance where we keep the logs and the keys. It’s not a huge space, so we have to be careful about how we stack the flour sacks so we can still walk through the aisles. The windows are high up, so we don’t get much of a view of the street, but you can hear the kids playing outside in the afternoons. Sometimes the power flickers when the weather gets bad, but we just keep going. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around all day. We’ve got a couple of old fans that we keep running to move the air around when it gets stuffy. It’s just a regular local spot, nothing fancy or polished about it. We just show up, do what needs doing at 61-B, and head home when the sun goes down. It suits us just fine for what we do. We've got a routine that works and we don't feel the need to change much of anything right now.
