The Food Street

The Food Street is found on M.G. Road in Mehrauli, near the Ashoka Mission and Dada Bari. This area of New Delhi is very old and full of history. Our spot is right on the main road, so we get a lot of dust and noise from the passing cars. It is a 110030 zip code. Working here is always a bit chaotic. We have a kitchen that is always busy, and there is never a quiet moment. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and prepping the food. It is a simple setup without any fancy decorations. We just have tables and chairs and a counter where we take orders. Mehrauli is a place where you see a mix of everyone. Some people are just walking by, and others are visiting the temples nearby. We have been at this location for a while. Sometimes the water supply is a bit irregular, which is a challenge for a food business, but we have our own tanks to manage. We don't have a corporate office or a big team of managers. It is just us and a few helpers in the back. The days are long and the work is hard, but it is what we know how to do. We just keep the kitchen going and hope the rain doesn't flood the street too much. It is a very basic, honest way of living and working in Delhi.
