S.M. Artware

You can find S.M. Artware over at B-214 in Phase-I of the Industrial Area. It’s the kind of place where you expect to see people in overalls and work boots. We make things here, and that means it isn't always clean or quiet. There’s usually the sound of tools or machines running in the background. We have a lot of materials stacked up against the walls—metal, wood, and other bits we use for our work. It’s a workshop through and through. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. If you want to see what we do, you just walk into the back where the work is happening. The light comes in through the big shutter doors, and there’s often a bit of dust dancing in the air. We’ve been in Phase-I for a long time. We know the other shop owners around here, and we sometimes borrow tools from each other. It’s a community of makers. We don't spend money on polished brochures or corporate branding. We’d rather spend that time finishing a project. Our hands are usually dirty by the end of the shift, which is fine by us. It means we actually did something. We just take it one day at a time, making sure each piece is okay before it goes out the door. It’s a simple life, focused on the craft and the materials we have in front of us. No big speeches, just work.
