Rex General Store

Rex General Store is right in the middle of the madness at Shop Number 35 on the Main Road in Lajpat Nagar 2. If you’ve been to Central Market, you probably know where we are, just opposite the Woodland showroom and close to the old 3Cs Cinema. It’s a very busy part of Delhi, and there is never a quiet moment outside the door. We have a small space, but we pack it with as much as possible. Everything from toiletries to snacks is shoved into the shelves. Being near the cinema means we get a lot of younger people dropping in for a quick drink or something to eat before a show. It’s different from the neighborhood stores because we see so many new faces every day. Still, we have our regulars who work in the other shops nearby. The traffic on the Main Road is always something to deal with, especially when we are trying to get our own deliveries in. Sometimes the boxes take up half the floor for a few hours until we can get them sorted. It’s just me and a couple of guys working here, making sure the shelves don't stay empty for too long. We don't have any big signs or advertisements, just the shop name and the stuff we sell. It’s a lot of work staying organized in such a fast-paced area, but we’ve been here for a while now. We just try to keep up with what people are asking for these days.
