Rajiv General Shop

I have been here in Block I-103 for quite a while now. Badarpur is noisy and crowded but it is where I live and work. Gali No. 4 gets really busy in the mornings when everyone is heading out. I usually open up the shutter around 8 am. Mostly the people living in Hari Nagar Extention come by to pick up their daily things. It is not a big fancy place. Just a regular counter and some old shelves full of whatever we could fit. Sometimes the tea stall guy from down the road brings over a glass while I am sorting through the new packets. Dealing with the distributors is a bit of a headache lately because the traffic in Delhi is just getting worse every single year. My son helps me out sometimes after his college classes are done for the day. We have most of what a normal house needs. Rice, oil, soaps, and the usual bits and pieces. The fans keep humming all day long but it still gets very hot in the summer here. I know most of the faces that walk through the door. They do not even have to ask for what they want sometimes, I just already know. It is a simple life for us. I have no big plans to change things. Just keeping the shelves stocked and the floor swept is enough. The neighbors are good people and we talk about the weather or the price of things. That is just how the day goes.
