Purno Pan Stall

Shahpur Jat is an interesting place to have a shop, especially near Purani Chopal. Our stall is at number 369. It is one of those spots that people just know if they live around here. The area has changed quite a bit with all the new designer stores and cafes, but the old parts like the chopal still have that local feel. We open up and the first thing is usually setting out the supplies. The stall isn't big, just enough room for one or two people to stand and work. We see a lot of people walking through the narrow lanes. Some are tourists looking for clothes, but most of our regulars are the guys who have lived in Shahpur Jat their whole lives. We talk about the weather or whatever else is happening in the news while they wait. It can get dusty when the wind blows through the lanes, so we are always wiping things down. In the afternoons, things slow down a bit when the sun is hot. That is when we usually take a break ourselves. Then it picks up again when people are heading home. We don't really do anything complicated here. It is just a small stall in a busy part of Delhi. We like being part of the daily routine for the people around here. It's a simple way to spend the day, watching the world go by from our little corner. We stay until the last regular leaves.
